Do you guys have any trigger "creep" before the break in Single Action mode?
Double action first shot will take some getting used to. It's a fairly long pull

I always found a bit of slack before the break in every Bersa I owned.
But the 9mms - both of them - aggravated me because sometimes they would switch to what I called a 'hair-trigger' mode.
All unexpectedly, of course. Made for some wild shots.

I have trigger creep with my UC 40 too. In fact I had several instances when I first started using it of the trigger not resetting at all. Meaning, I would fire a shot the slide would cycle, new round chambered and the trigger was very loose and pulling it all the way back would not fire the pistol. I had to de-cock it and fire DA.

This stopped happening as I got used to the pistol. I don't think I was using a firm enough grip. There is a phenomenom that occurs with compact pistols if you don't grip it tight. Some of the recoil is used up in movement of the gun and whipping of the wrist, therefore the action does not cycle completely. This can cause FTF and FTE as well.

I read a tutorial about holding a pistol written by a man who competes with 1911's and he said squeeze as tight as you can, until your hand is trmbling a bit and your shooting will improve. It had an imediate efect for me. So now as long as I squeeze tight and concetrate on the fundamentals of breathing and trigger squeeze, it generally hit what I aim at.

Sorry for the long response.
Dale

thanks dale. no worries for the response, i read every bit of it. that tight squeeze in DA could throw your accuracy way off until you get the hang of it. i heard about a Glock guy that told them to put an empty shell casing right behind the front sight and practice trigger pulling technique until the bullet stayed on the slide and there was no movement. don't think we can do it with these curved slides though lol

the theory is that with a relaxed grip the 3 fingers that grip will move as you contract the trigger finger throwing off your aim ,but if the grip is tight the other 3 fingers cant contract any more and the gun stays on target.

Mine's up for sale. NIB, never fired. I just don't like compacts, at all. I want an HC9, for the range and maybe another 380 but thats about it when it comes to Bersa's for me. These UC's aren't my cup of tea.

Calvin,
Just curious what you don't like about the UC? Especially if you never shot it?

i don't have to shoot a gun to decide if i'll like it or not. my friend owns a gun store and pretty much badgered me till i bought the damn thing. it's too wide and chunky, grip fit isn't right for me either. i don't like it. i know people love bersa's but i'll stick with my smith and wesson's for carry. I want another Thunder .380 with blue wood grips for me, one with pink grips for the g/f, and the Thunder 9HC

Cal: You'll have the same clunkiness, grip and feel (plus a bit of extra weight) with the Thunder 9HC.

The 9HC will be strictly for range time.
